How do Pentecostal Christians seek repair and renewal in their lives, after efforts to rupture with the past become born again? In this article, I wish consider ways that a group of Nigerian Pentecostals who belong deliverance church re-narrativise lives by constructing entering into new timelines history attempts break past. This discursive project works insert notion ‘Black Africa’ an authentically Christian historical chronology stretches far back biblical forward eschaton. way, Africa's unique spiritual character is seen as reflected not only its reasserted claim history, but also eschatologically driven destiny re-evangelise world. tells us something about theological way these reframe role including how understanding collective shapes vision they are present will be future. argue more attention needs given processes repair, repositioning realignment discussions conversion Pentecostalism can generate away from what becomes conceptualised ‘the past’.
